The Children at the Crossroads Foundation (“CATC”) knows that users of its website (the “Site”) care about the personal information they provide to us. This privacy policy, which is part of our overall Terms and Conditions of Use (the “Terms”), is designed to provide you with information about how we collect, store and use personally identifiable information obtained through the Site. We refer to this information as “personal information.” CATC reserves the right to revise this privacy policy from time to time by updating this webpage, and by using the Site, you are agreeing to the terms of the then-current privacy policy.

When you participate in any interactive CATC social networks contained on the Site, or wish to utilize certain website services offered by us, we will ask you for information, such as your name, address, email address, telephone number, certain demographic information and (if needed) credit card information. CATC needs certain information in order to register you as a unique user and let you access personalized services. However, other requested information is optional and can be given at your discretion.

You can also submit information about other people pursuant to certain website services offered by us. For example, you might submit a person’s name and email address to send them a link to a particular CATC event. The types of personal information that may be collected about other people at these pages include: recipient’s name, address, email address, and telephone number. Please be sure to consult with these individuals prior to providing such information.

Like most websites, the Site uses “cookies.” A “cookie” is a text file, invoked by standard browser software, that we place on your hard drive to enable our systems to, among other things, recognize your browser, track transactions, and allow you to navigate our website without having to re-enter information. Personal information collected through the Site may be used by CATC to communicate with you, register you as a user, allow donation payments, event registrations, enable you to participate in special promotions and interactive social networks and to navigate the Site without having to re-enter information, administer the Site, customize your experience on the Site, administer contests comply with applicable law, and as otherwise provided in this privacy policy. CATC may occasionally make personal information available to select other organizations, including but not limited to, affiliated organizations, agents working on our behalf, companies or organizations with whom we have a contractual or sponsor relationship, or in connection with an asset transfer. Certain of our programs, such as CATC interactive social networks, use personal information to send updates and notices to registered users via email. If you provide your mailing address or telephone number, CATC may also use your personal information to contact you by mail or by telephone regarding announcements, updated information about CATC or the Site, and new services offered by CATC. If you do not want to receive this information, indicate that CATC may not do so at the point where you give us your personally identifiable information. If CATC is sold to, or merges with, another organization, or declares bankruptcy, some or all of the information collected from you may be transferred to a third party as a result of the transfer of assets. We may also disclose your information when we determine it is necessary to comply with applicable laws or protect the interests or safety of CATC or other visitors to the Site.

CATC may engage reputable third-party vendors in order to help us manage the Site, administer activities on our behalf (such as event administration and other related programs) and allow CATC to better service its visitors and customers. These may include third-party vendors engaged to analyze, for marketing purposes, the information collected on the Site. CATC may share your information with these third parties for these purposes.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites. This privacy policy will not apply to such third-party websites. Visitors and customers should consult other sites’ privacy notices, as CATC has no control over information that is submitted to, or collected by, these third parties.

The Site may use third-party platforms to provide services to visitors and customers, including, without limitation, merchandise purchase and other interactive services, such as social networks, blogs and picture and video sharing forums. All web platforms powered by third parties may have separate terms and conditions of use and privacy policies. To the extent possible, third-party privacy policies and terms and conditions of use will be displayed on CATC webpages utilizing these third-party platforms, or in the alternative, a link to the platform provider’s website will be displayed. Visitors and customers should consult the terms and conditions of use and privacy policies of all third-party service providers prior to the continued use of these portions of the Site.

We may disclose your personal information when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who may be violating our Terms or to protect the safety, property or other rights of our users or the public. In addition, we may disclose or access account information for administrative and other purposes that we believe are necessary to develop, maintain, and improve our products and services. As a result, CATC cannot guarantee, ensure or warrant the security of any information you provide to CATC.
 

CATC may provide links to other websites, but CATC is not responsible for the privacy policies, terms and conditions of use, or content of any such websites. CATC encourages you to familiarize yourself with the privacy policies and terms and conditions of use of linked websites. You may agree to provide personal information to other companies who provide content for various parts of our website.
